ays Matthew: 'I'm not writing any short stuff at the moment [July 2003], but I do have plans to write something a little bit different in the near future, if time allows. It's not a full-length novel, but it probably doesn't qualify as a short story either, more like a novella, I suppose. I do, however, plan to write a new short story for The Bulletin magazine's Summer Fiction Edition, if they ask me again this year! I've enjoyed working with the people at The Bulletin and shorts give me the chance to experiment, to try new things.'
